Since the elements of nature are undoubtedly the protagonists in an autumn decoration, as we saw a few days ago in this article. How about today we propose to create your own homemade air fresheners with natural elements?
Air fresheners become an almost mandatory element in a home where there are smokers or pets, and it is always a fortune to have to buy them. For this reason, a good idea is to prepare our own home air fresheners, since they have many more qualities than those we can find in any store: they are made with elements that we usually have at home such as oranges, lemons, cinnamon sticks, cloves. smell …, etc. In addition, they do not contain components that can harm the ozone layer, but best of all, they are very simple and cheap to manufacture.
Next we will explain how to create natural home air fresheners to scent the home in the simplest and most economical way possible. Let’s see it.
We fill a saucepan or small saucepan with water halfway, put it over maximum heat and bring it to a boil. When the water is fully boiling, we add one of the following ingredient combinations:
Ingredients: Two sticks of cinnamon sticks, three tablespoons of vanilla essence, one tablespoon of cloves and three slices of orange.
Autumn air freshener.
Ingredients: Five bay leaves, a tablespoon of cloves and two sticks of cinnamon sticks.
Ingredients: Two sticks of cinnamon sticks, a tablespoon of cloves, three tablespoons of vanilla essence, a tablespoon of ground cinnamon, an apple cut into four parts with skin and seeds.
Ingredients: A stick of cinnamon stick, a tablespoon of cloves, a lemon or lime cut into slices, a slice of orange, two bay leaves.
Autumn floral scent.
Ingredients: A cup of lavender petals, a teaspoon of anise, a tablespoon of nutmeg, a tablespoon of cloves, a stick of cinnamon stick.
When we already have the ingredients in the boiling water, we stir them slowly with the help of a wooden spoon. We will let them boil over high heat for 3 to 5 minutes and then we will lower the heat to the minimum. At this point, we can do two things:
- Let the mixture boil for hours so that the house perfumes itself, controlling that it never lacks water, we would have to be aware of the fire so that the ingredients do not burn due to lack of water.
- Let the ingredients boil for about half an hour, turn off the heat, and when it is cold, strain the liquid and put it in a sprayer to have it ready and use it where and when you want it. If we choose this option, we will have to include a couple of teaspoons of baking soda in the mixture before turning off the heat.
This type of air freshener results in very long-lasting and natural fragrances, perfect for the fall and winter season, actually good for any season.
